My CPPS is bothering me yet again, but it’s kind of got me worried this time.  Usually when I have a flare up, I’m not on meds and I take meds and I usually feel better within a month.  Well, I have been on meds for the past 18 days, and it’s flaring up in the middle of being on the meds.  I don’t really understand that.  I’m having lower back pain that shoots down my leg so bad that it is interrupting my sleep.  I called the urologist this morning and they offered to call in more meds.  I mean, really? That’s it?  I know that this disease is one of the most poorly understood afflictions out there, but I am in the midst of taking meds and I call the doctor and that’s all they can do for me?  I talked to the urologist the last time I went into this office and he explained that there is only so much that can be done and that I should prepare to have to “live with it.”  It’s so taxing.
Chronic pain ain’t no joke.  It’s hard to not be depressed when you’re in pain all of the time.

  2. jennuhsaisquoi said: I know you don’t want more meds, but have you thought about seeing a pain specialist? My mom sees one for her chronic pain issues and they do everything they can to help her manage it. It’s worth a shot.
  3. takemedowntofunkytown said: I understand. My flareups used to trigger from stress & hormones. Now I don’t go a day w/o pain meds. It is limiting. It is suckage. It is draining on my joyful spirit.
